Over-all Thoughts: It was okay. It was a sweet little love story about family and forgiveness. The one thing I seriously disliked is the way the author handled the atheist's conversion. It left me feeling bitter.
What I liked: It was a sugary sweet love story about forgiveness and how people change. I could deal with the religious themes, and it was cute seeing devotion in the heroine.
What I Hated: Tyler's conversion. I have read some books with conversions in it The Stand by Stephen King is an example, but it didn't come off forced or judgmental. Angelina whined the whole entire time how she wanted to marry a Christian man, but the man she loved never wanted to be a Christian. The other people in town were also hassling him on conversion. It left me feeling bitter because of my own experiences with Christians like this, that if you don't convert they will leave you. Of course in the last chapter Tyler converted right at the end of the book, and planned to marry Angelina as soon as possible. It was selfish of Angelina to almost demand and expect it from Tyler. It's cool that she wanted a Christian man, but it's manipulative to expect someone to convert for you. If you love someone you should love them regardless if they are Christian or not.
Rating: 3 stars out of 5. I feel this review was pretty generous, given my rant above.
Recommend it? Maybe.
