Review to come. I feel like I'm in shock.
Disclaimer: I am goodread and booklikes' friends with the author, but that does not affect my review and rating.
Edit: I still don't know how to feel about this book. It was extremely well-written, in my opinion. It was also scary as fuck. It also brought up a lot of bad memories for me. A sign of a good book, sometimes, imho.
I'm so glad that Gavin was never completely romanticized. I just want to comfort Val and send her to an actually excellent therapist to deal with her trauma and hand her the book, The Courage to Heal. It feels relevant in her case.
Also take note that I have not read the first book in this series, but I plan to.
