How this started: Kerrie and Sarah both dared me to read more Love Inspired(TM) novels. This wasn't from that publisher but it was in the Christan Romance section on Amazon Kindle for free so I said what the hell.
All these characters were so badly developed and written that it felt like watching paper cut-out characters interact.
The villains were so stereotypical it was comedic, which wasn't the author's intent.
Also the whole all the females find the heroine plain, but the males find her gorgeous. She's either beautiful or plain. Pick one, and stay with it.
The hero fell in love with her because of her beauty, fragility, and her constant crying. True love right here.
The mail order bride trope kinds squicks me. I haven't figured out why yet.
At least there was no conversion porn in this one.
